Karachi: Lahore Qalandars captain Sohail Akhtar has said that they will try to manage Pakistan’s leading pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s workload during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.
While talking to media in a pre-tournament presser, Sohail revealed that the star pacer won’t be overburdened and will be provided rest when needed.
“He is an asset for Pakistan and we will try to manage his workload properly by giving him rest whenever it is needed and possible by the team,” he said.
Sohail emphasized that in the last season, their spin attack was weak and after Rashid Khan’s arrival in the side, the attack is now strengthened.
“Rashid Khan is the top bowler of the world. With his arrival our spin attack has also got some much-needed experience and it has made our bowling attack a top class one,” Akhtar said.
Meanwhile, Sohail is confident of doing well this season too as they were the runners-up in PSL 2020. “We played good cricket last year. We came so near to the title but couldn’t finish well. This year, we will try to overcome our all shortcomings and give our best. the Qalandars are positive and focused about the upcoming tournament.”

Karachi: Renowned Pakistani singer and artist Ali Zafar has confirmed that he won’t be performing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six opening ceremony.
The 40-year-old Ali took to Twitter and denied the reports regarding his performance in pre-recorded PSL 6’s virtual music show.
I will not be performing at the opening ceremony.

Ali sang the first three anthems of the PSL solely. He released his own anthem ‘Mela Loot Liya’ last year after a heavy demand by the fans as they were disappointed by the official PSL anthem ‘Tayyar Hain’.
On the other hand, PSL’s virtual show shooting is underway in Istanbul, Turkey. PSL 6 anthem’s artists including Aima Baig, Naseebo Lal, and Young Stunners have already arrived in Turkey for the shoot.
Reportedly, rockstar Atif Aslam has also recorded his performance for the cricket extravaganza.
Note, Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and bio-secure bubble created for players and officials, there will be no opening ceremony at the National Stadium, Karachi.

The most followed franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings will be defending the title in upcoming sixth edition, starting from February 20.
Imad Wasim led Karachi Kings only held the reign for four months as they claimed PSL 5 title in November 2020, beating Lahore Qalandars in the final by five wickets.
Kings are coming in the tournament under new head coach Herschelle Gibbs and assistant coach Dougie Brown.
Kings have the best of the opportunity to defend their title as they are scheduled to play seven of the group matches at home ground, National Stadium.
Kings will be up against 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators on February 20 in the opening fixture while the final group match will be against Lahore Qalandars on March 14 at Gaddafi Stadium.
