Tom Brady announces he’s coming back after winning Super Bowl 55 MVP (Video)

To the shock of no one, Tom Brady announced that he’s coming back next year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and probably coming back to the Super Bowl.Last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished with a 7-9 record. This was a team with talent all over, but had a glaring need at quarterback. Luckily for them, Tom Brady hit the open market and agreed to terms on a two-year contract, $50 million contract. The decision paid off mightily for the Buccaneers. Brady led Tampa Bay to their first Super Bowl appearance since 2003 and helped win the organization’s second Lombardi Trophy.Considering he’s 43-years-old, many were wondering Brady would retire on top as a seven-time Super Bowl champion. The most decorated quarterback in NFL history quickly quashed that talk, saying that he’s coming back and that the Buccaneers were coming back to the Super Bowl next year.Brady looked ageless this seasonWhen looking at how the Buccaneers performed throughout the season and in Super Bowl 55, Brady’s subtle announcement should not come as a shock.Signing Brady paid dividends for the Buccaneers. The team managed to pry tight end Rob Gronkowski out of retirement in a trade with the New England Patriots and took a chance on embattled wide receiver Antonio Brown. And those moves helped the Buccaneers reach the mountaintop. In 16 regular-season games, Brady completed 65.7-percent of his passes for 4,633 yards, 40 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Compare that to his final season in New England, where he threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions on a 60.8 completion percentage.Brady didn’t exactly light up the stat-sheet in Super Bowl 55, but he did more than enough to pull the Buccaneers to a pivotal victory. Brady completed 21-of-29 pass attempts for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers helped lead Brady to his fifth Super Bowl MVP award.Even though his contract runs out after the 2021 season, it is not farfetched to imagine Brady playing for a couple more seasons before finally deciding to hang up his cleats for good. But next season? Brady’s coming back, looking for his eighth Super Bowl ring.
